About Us
Founded in 2019, the accommodation Viterbo8 The Artists House, constituted with 8 apartments, is a historical building, totally renovated, on the historical city center.
In a perfect combination of comfort and elegance, the Viterbo8 The Artists House pays tribute to the Portuguese Arts.
Situated in Ribeira, the most representative area in the city of Porto, the house Viterbo8 The Artists House is the follow-up of the spirit and authenticity lived in the Porto streets, a city so full of history and great artistic living
We have eight apartments for your convenience that represent eight different artistic themes, providing a unique experience.
The house has four floors, which comprehends two apartments on each floor.
The first floor features the Music Apartment, which pays tribute to Fado and Amália Rodrigues, an unparalleled figure the represents this music style so uniquely Portuguese. This floor is also composed of the Ceramics Apartment, which represents the decorative arts of Bordallo Pinheiro.
On the second floor, you can find the Painting Apartment – whose exposed paintings are from the authors Sofia Gonçalves and her sister Cátia Gonçalves –, and the Architecture Apartment, that represents the Portuguese Pritzker Prizes, Álvaro Siza Vieira and Eduardo Souto Moura
On the third floor, we have the Literature Apartment – with a special highlight to the unmatched Portuguese Literature figure, Luís Vaz de Camões -, and the Theater Apartment that represents the Portuguese vaudeville and the theater director Filipe La Féria, one of the theaters and vaudeville main names in Portugal.
Finally, on the fourth and last floor, we can find the Cinema Apartment, which references Vasco Santana, an actor and unavoidable name of Portuguese cinema history, and the Filigree Apartment, that represents the Queen Maria I de Portugal, whose History suggest the connection between the Queen and the Heart of Viana in Filigree.
