Cinema

The Cinema in Portugal has arisen at the end of the XIX century, with Aurélio Paz dos Reis, that was responsible for the first Portuguese films, being known as the cinema’s father in Portugal. After the first Aurélio Paz dos Reis’ work presentation, many works inspired by the international cinema appeared in the following years.

In the Portuguese cinema history, there are a lot of remarkable people that have contributed to the evolution of the Seventh Art such as Manoel de Oliveira, António Lopes Ribeiro and Vasco Santana, an actor that became a national cinema legend, that marked the Portuguese comedy since nowadays.
